The Nokia N8 comes with a 12 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash. But in exactly how good is the camera?

Here are some pictures taken on the Nokia N8. These pictures are unedited only resize to fit this blog. All pictures are taken on the automatic settings.

The Nokia N8 camera produces good indoor and outdoor pictures. Close up pictures have to be at least 4 inches away from the phone to focus.

The camera function on the Nokia N8 can be stat up by pressing the camera button on the side of the phone or by pressing on the camera icon in the applications folder. The camera takes a while to start which I believe Nokia should improve this.

The camera has a wide variety of settings which can be access by pressing the wrench icon. While the settings are good to have but changing them takes a while which is not practical when you quickly want to take a picture. I would have preferred the “Scene Mode” setting to be located on the main menu which I guess most people will use and other settings like white balance, contrast and others can remain in the settings menu.

Overall, the Nokia N8′s 12 mega pixel camera is capable of producing great pictures, but Nokia will need to improve on the start up time and camera user interface.

Agree with you on the camera interface which I hope Nokia can further enhance the features on this. My new N8 camera button bit difficult to press which I guess it was casued by the back cover case.
