The posters the Q3 release looks a bit boring but some of the tracks are rather interesting. Adam Lambert’s Whataya Want From Me for BodyPump cool down? Hmmm… I think it’s a bit loud for a cool down track. On the other hand, the tracks for BodyBalance looks nice. Some of the tracks are cover versions as I heard Les Mills is cutting down on paying royalty. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes Les Mills is going for PPCA free musics now.
Most clubs in Australia now require instructors use 100% copyright-free music, and as a result, Australia gets 100% cover versions of all new LM releases from Q3 2010. So my guess is rather than LMI buying the license for the original track, as well as the license to cover it for a sound-a-like, they are making as many sound-a-likes as possible to cut down on costs, given that some of them are pretty darn good.
I agree with Marty. Some, I will admit are too different from the originals and feel out of step (Body Pump 73′s Back Track springs to mind).
Body Balance 50′s back track, on the other hand, ‘Hey, Soul Sister’ is much nicer than the original by Train. The female vocals are great. My only regret is that it’s probably not possible to find the artist and buy a copy of the cover version for my collection for those I think sound.
I’m falling in love with a lot of the PPCA free music this quarter.
