Jay Chou World Tour 2008

The BF and I attended the Jay Chou’s World Tour concert at Stadium Merdeka. I have to thank my sponsors for the free tickets! :)

We arrived at the right time as traffic around Stadium Merdeka was already starting to get heavy but we managed to find a parking spot in the car park just before they closed it as it was full. We made a detour to Petaling Street for herbal jelly and herbal drink before heading to the stadium as it was 1 hour to the start of the concert. Need something to cool ourselves as it’s going to be a warm night as the stadium was open air.

On arrival, the BF saw a stall selling Takoyaki and he quickly queued to buy some. As we could not bring the food into the stadium, we stood near the entrance to finish the food. What’s surprising is there was no queue to enter the stadium. However there was a long queue for the (portable) toilets! While standing in the queue for the toilet, one auntie came out from the toilet and complained that it was very warm in there. Duh!!! The toilet is only for peeing. It’s not like asking her to sit there for the entire concert.

The BF and I found a rather nice spot (it’s free standing) to watch the concert. When the concert started, the audience was so excited that they started standing on the chairs and that blocked the view of the people standing in the Rock Zone which started screaming at the audience in front to sit down. Some were furious and started to throw mineral water bottles at the audience in front.

I enjoyed the three hour concert as Jay song over 30 songs with multiple costume change and the fantastic fireworks display. Jay also played a variety of musical instruments during the concert - guitar, drums, guzheng and a crystal piano. The excited audience asked to encore twice and Jay obliged with some favorites.
