This is my first trip to Amsterdam this year. This time I decided to stay at Sofitel Amsterdam, one of the better hotels around Schiphol Airport. The hotel is not cheap! EUR 230 per night including breakfast. That’s approx RM1083 which I can get a nice suite in Malaysia! Here are two pictures of the room.
My flight arrived at 5.40am, so after check-in, I took a nap while waiting for the shops in the city to open at 10~11am. The easiest and cheapest way to get to the city is by train. So from the hotel, I took the hotel shuttle bus to Schiphol Airport which takes around 10 mins and at the airport there is a train station. The tickets cost EUR6.50 roundtrip.
I love the trains in Holland. They are clean, not crowded and double decker! There is a train every 6 mins from the Airport to the city centre. Travel time is only 15 mins. Oh, I forgot to mention the trains doors don’t open automatically. You need to press a button at the side of the door.
Amsterdam city is very much the same. Kalverstraat (the shopping street) is as busy as ever. I did not walk around much this time as it was raining. After picking up some stuff, I headed back to the hotel.
Ku tak tergambar wajahmu
Sinar mata itu
Lirik senyumanmu
Pesona yang membelai
Wajahmu bercahaya
Memberi bahagia
Tiap yang memandang
Hati jadi salju
Kau terlalu istimewa
Kasih dan sayangmu terpancar
Seikhlas tiada batasan
Terus membara
Terkilan rasa jiwa
Ingin ku lihat mu dewasa
Apa daya
Tuhan lebih menyayangimu
Ku pasti kau berbahagia
Duduk di sampingnya
Mendengar cerita
Sekadar rahsia
Kau terlalu istimewa
Kasih dan sayangmu terpancar
Seikhlas tiada batasan
Terus membara
Terkilan rasa jiwa
Ingin ku lihat mu dewasa
Apa daya
Tuhan lebih menyayangimu
Tak tertanggung rindu…
Mendengar suaramu…
Tawa mengusik jiwa…
Oh…
Been thinking of organizing games night on weekend at my place. I have quite a fair bit of board games in my collection. Taboo, Cranium, Scrabble, Bingo, Monopoly…etc.
Anyone keen to join? Let me know. I’m sure it will be fun!
I once had a friend who grew to be close to me. Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, he filled the palm of his hand with some water and held it before me, and said “You see this water carefully contained in my hand? It symbolizes Love”.
This was how I saw it: As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds. This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love, they try to posses it, they demand, they expect…and just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will retrieve from you. For love is meant to be free, you cannot change its nature.
If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings. Give and don’t expect. Advise, but don’t order. Ask, but never demand. It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It is the secret to true love.
To truly practive it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those whom you love, and yet an unconditional caring. “Passing thought… Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take; but by the moments that take our breath away… Life is beautiful! Live it!
